Holiday Reading Coupons!
Dear Parents:
Since December is such a short but critical month in your child’s reading and literacy development, I have decided to do a fun reading incentive activity to allow students the best opportunity for retention during the long holiday break. Included in this packet are several reading coupons that can be filled out during the month of December and the holiday season. I have also included Dibels practice sheets that your child can use to read and practice for one or several of the coupons (these are especially important due to the upcoming Dibels test and Kindergarten Assessment in January). Your child will be familiar with these Dibels sheets, as we will be practicing them in class. Please do your best to read and provide reading time to your child during the holiday season. You may use books from home, library books, class books from the rainbow folders, or the included practice sheets. Students who complete and return the entire coupon package will receive a special prize when we return to school in January. I will also consider prizes for students who complete some or half of the reading coupon package, but it MUSt be returned. Please understand that this is an optional activity. My hope is that you will take advantage of this time to work with your child in literacy.
If you have any comments or concerns regarding this reading incentive activity please call, come to the classroom, or e-mail me. Thanks for all you do! Enjoy the holiday season!
Mrs. George
Parent Christmas Gifts!
Dear Parents,
We have been working on a special Christmas gift for you! Each student needs to bring $1.50 to school by Friday Dec. 16 or ASAP to cover the cost of their gift. Please understand that this is a donation to assist me in buying the materials needed to make these special presents. Every child will be making a gift for their family regardless of cost, however, any donations will assist me in purchasing items needed to make the gifts. Please give your child a small job to do to earn the money they need to get you a wonderful and memorable gift for Christmas! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call, come to the classroom, or e-mail me. I will be happy to help! Thank you! Mrs. George

Attention Parent Volunteers!
Starting Monday December 5, all parent volunteers will need to sign in and record their time present in the classroom. There will be a parent volunteer folder next to the classroom door. I will show you where it is located when you arrive. You will need to sign your name, the date, and the time you spent volunteering on that day. This is to keep track for necessary PTA data. Also, we will have a Flag Ceremony on Wednesday November 30. The Flag Ceremony is at 10:00, so I will need to switch my centers to 9:15 as not to interfere with the assembly. If you are a parent volunteer on that day, you will need to come in at 9:15 instead of the regular 10:00 time. I will be calling each of you to confirm this date and time. Thank you for being part of your child's education!

December Book Orders!
I will be sending a book order on Monday Nov. 28. This is the last order before Christmas! If you will be ordering, please return the order form and payment in a sealed envelope with your child's name on the front! Please do NOT send cash. Checks need to be made payable to Scholastic.
Class T-shirts!
I am SO SO SO excited about the class t-shirts! I will be sending an official order form on Monday November 28! Please fill out the necessary information and return your $7 payment to school in the attached envelope NO LATER THAN FRIDAY DECEMBER 2! I plan to send the orders to the company that day, so late orders may not be received in time for Christmas! I should receive our order by Dec. 14. I will wrap the t-shirts and hand then to the students on Dec. 16, which is the day we dismiss for our winter recess! I think they are going to LOVE them! THANK YOU FOR SUCH A GREAT RESPONSE IN ORDERING THE SHIRTS! I HAVE SOME AWESOME PARENTS! If you will not be ordering a class t-shirt for your student, I will make sure he/she receives a new book as their gift instead of the shirt! I want everyone to get something special that day! THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT! I will make sure the kids know how lucky they are to have parents who are willing to make amazing things possible for them!
In addition, I am still trying to decide on a good color. If you have any suggestions, please comment on this post!

100 Days Feb. 10th!
In Kindergarten, we will be celebrating the 100th day of school on Thursday Feb. 10! Along with this celebration, we are challenging our students to gather 100 different autographs before the 100th day of school! Schoolmates, teachers, classroom visitors, staff members, family members, and neighbors can gather these autographs. Students who complete this activity will receive a special prize!
Valentine Party Note!
Dear Parents,
Our class Valentine Party exchange will be Monday February 14th! Please send valentines for _25-pm 22-am__ students. There is no need for you to fill in the “To” section of the Valentine; however, please allow your child to fill in the “From” section with his/her name. That way when we pass out Valentines, it will be easy for each child to receive one from everyone in the class! We will be making Valentine bags at school to put all our special cards and treats in!
In addition, we will be decorating Valentine cookies that day. The following is a list of students who need to furnish items for this party:
AM Class
